No. This isn’t a blog post about O.J. Simpson. However, if true crime is your thing, head to my other website, “The Unwritten,” to get your fill. After you read this first, of course.

Instead, I’m going to be talking about the benefits of juicing. This is one of my favorite go-tos for my health. I’m not going to lie – it does take time. But as the saying goes, “Make time for your health now, or make time for doctor visits later”.

My journey started about ten years ago when I saw the movie, “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead,” about Joe Cross (and yes, I have a wee bit of a crush – that Australian accent). If you have yet to watch the movie, you can find it on Pluto, Roku, Tubi, and YouTube.

My efforts were sporadic. You go through A LOT of vegetables and fruits, and sometimes I didn’t want to put the money or the effort into it.

Then, a few years ago, I got a gig as a ghostwriter for a juicing blog. Being reminded of all the health benefits got me back on the juicing kick with a bigger and better juicer: the Omega Juicer Extractor.

This time, I wanted a better record of the benefits, so here is my before and after 30 days of drinking juice every morning:

Once again, life got in the way, and juicing fell by the wayside.

But baby, I’m back in the juicing groove.

I know there are tons of naysayers out there about the lack of insoluble fiber or the high natural sugar content, and what they’re saying is true, but here are the benefits:

That Glow!

Ever heard the phrase, “You are what you eat”? Well, when it comes to juicing, it’s more like “you are what you drink.” Juicing isn’t just about fueling your body; it’s about nourishing your skin, hair, and overall well-being from the inside out. After a few weeks of juicing, say hello to that radiant glow!

Immune Support

We all know the struggle of trying to stay healthy, especially during the winter. With each sip of your favorite blend, you’re giving your immune system a boost, thanks to the powerhouse of nutrients packed into those fruit and veggie concoctions.

Have You Got the Guts?

With fiber-rich blends and gut-loving ingredients, juicing can promote digestive health, ease bloating, and keep healthy gut bacteria flourishing.

Energy Through the Roof

Feeling a bit sluggish? Need a pick-me-up without reaching for that extra shot of espresso? When you juice, your body doesn’t need to digest and break down the food to get the nutrients. With juicing, those natural sugars, vitamins, and minerals are absorbed quickly to give you sustained vitality.

So, let’s raise our glasses (or mason jars) to the bountiful benefits of juicing. To get you started, here is one of my favorite recipes from the book “Clean” by Alejandro Junger, M.D.

Apple, Ginger, Lemon, and Spinach Juice

2 Apples

1/2 inch piece of fresh ginger

1 lemon, peeled

1 cup spinach leaves

Happy juicing!
